If your business or organisation has an issue related to workplace bullying and harassment then Iedinburgh am able to work with you to identify your specific needs and identify appropriate interventions and strategies. This can range from dealing with isolated incidents or requirements through to embedding cultural change within an organisation. I am able to draw on an extensive network of contacts / associates to ensure large scale contracts can be delivered.

Policy and Procedure

I can develop new policies and procedures for your business / organisation or review your existing policies and assess whether they are legally compliant, ‘fit for purpose’ and reflect ‘best practice’ in the light of the most recent research and findings.

Investigation

I have had direct and indirect experience of a multitude of investigations into alleged workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination. Whilst many investigators (internal and external) are well meaning and rigorous in their approach, too many fail to establish the facts sufficiently due to the complexity and subtleties often involved in these specific cases.

Despite the investment made many cases fail to be resolved in a satisfactory way for the parties involved. I am able to adopt an approach which is far more likely to establish the facts and provide positive resolution for all of the parties involved. I am also able to offer training for workplace investigators.

Mediation

There are undoubted benefits to utilizing mediation as a means of dispute resolution within the workplace but there are many factors that should be taken into account before considering this intervention, particularly in cases of alleged workplace bullying and harassment. I am able to advise on the suitability of mediation to resolve a specific dispute and provide a service should this be appropriate.

Mentoring and Coaching

As an employer you may feel that one or more of the parties involved in a dispute regarding workplace bullying and harassment may benefit from mentoring or coaching. I have substantial experience of assisting individuals in positively addressing their workplace behaviour.

Employee Assistance

Many employers will provide staff with access to employee assistance schemes but sometimes they do not provide the level or type of support an employee needs. In addition many individuals struggle with detailing their experiences in a logical and structured format and this can result in confusion and delay at a cost to all parties. Having assisted many individuals through this process I can offer organisations a service to support individuals and help employers fulfill their ‘duty of care’.

Trade Union Support

Virtually every Trade Union produces guidance on workplace bullying and harassment but this may need updating to reflect the current research and learning. In addition Trade Unions are regularly involved in advising, supporting and representing members and devising and delivering training on the issue to officers and members. I am able to review such literature and suggest amendments, offer specialist support to officers and members, provide training design and delivery and advise on campaigning activities.

Legal Support

Many law firms represent organisations or individuals involved in claims related to workplace bullying and harassment. I can offer specialist advice, support and training on issues related to these type of claims.

General HR and employee relations issues

Whilst I specialize in issues related to workplace bullying and harassment I have vast experience in general HR and employee relations issues and am able to offer advice, support and input in these areas.
