About

DSCI0011I have had involvement in hundreds of cases concerning allegations of workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination. In addition I have assisted many organisations in implementing Dignity at Work policies and procedures. This has been at all levels and across a broad range of organisations.

I was previously employed as a Trade Union Branch Secretary within a national children’s charity, a post I held for over 15 years. Prior to this I was a Project Leader within the same organisation and originally started my career as a Local Authority Social Worker. I attended the University of Northumbria where I attained my qualification in addition to an honours degree in Sociology and Applied Social Studies.

In addition to my practical experience I have extensively researched the phenomena of workplace bullying and harassment and firmly believe that positive advice and intervention must be guided by the available research.

Whilst the term ‘bullying’ is part of our cultural language and one that resonates with us all I adopt an approach that aims to frame negative workplace behaviour in a way that helps all the parties involved resolve matters and move forward in a constructive a way as possible.

Such an approach can also help in reducing the range of costs incurred that are far more than simply financial.
